Gutter Service in Derry, NH

We cover Derry from Hampstead, roughly 5 minutes and 5 miles by our estimate. The town splits between antique homes in East Derry, near the Robert Frost Farm, and 1980s Route 28 subdivisions that are now due for new gutters. Tall maples, older trim and long two-story eaves make the fascia the first thing we check before we measure a single run.

Derry's gutter work comes down to two eras. One is the village around the Robert Frost Farm and Derry Village, where houses are older than the gutters on them. The other is the Route 28 side, where whole streets of 1980s colonials are now on their second set of gutters or past it.

East Derry antiques and what old trim needs

The Robert Frost Farm sits on Rockingham Road, which is Route 28, about two miles southeast of Derry Village, and East Derry's village center is a listed historic district. Houses there have wide eave trim, deep fascia boards and rooflines that are not square. A factory-straight gutter hung on a bowed fascia will pull away, so we measure the actual line and pitch the run to it.

On an old house, we also check the fascia before we hang anything. Soft wood behind a gutter will not hold a hanger. If a board has to be replaced first, you will know that before the work starts. For wide trim and rot, see our page on gutter repair.

Route 28 subdivisions built in the 1980s

The median Derry home was built in 1983, and 70% are owner-occupied (ACS 2020-24). A house of that age is usually on its second system or overdue for one. Sectional gutters from that era are joined every 10 feet or so, and each joint is a place for sealant to fail. That is where seamless gutters help, since a run cut to length has far fewer joints.

The other 30% of Derry homes are rented, so some of the gutters we look at belong to landlords. If you manage rental buildings, tell us how many, and we will quote each one in writing.

Services Derry homes ask for most

Beaver Lake, Pinkerton and the taller roofs

Houses near Beaver Lake and the streets around Pinkerton Academy, which was incorporated in 1814, include a lot of two-story and split-level homes. Higher eaves matter for cleaning, because the cost is mostly labor and ladder time. They matter for runoff too: a tall wall sends water down a long drop, and the downspout needs to end where it will not soak the foundation. Derry also drains toward Beaver Brook, which runs south to the Merrimack, and on sloped lots roof water can run straight at the house below.

Leaves, ice and the fall window

Derry's older streets are lined with big maples, and the lots in the newer subdivisions often back onto pines. Maple leaves mat into a trough quickly, while pine needles pack the downspout outlet. Either one sets up the same winter problem: water that cannot leave the gutter freezes in it, and the weight of that ice works on the hangers.

Cleaning after the leaves are down and before the first hard freeze is the plain fix. If you are cleaning every fall and still finding the trough full by spring, that is the point to ask about gutter guards for your roofline, not before.

Why Derry is an easy trip

We are five miles away, so you do not wait on a special trip. A visit covers the roofline, the length of each run, the state of the fascia and hangers, and it ends with a price in writing. Windham, Londonderry, Sandown, Atkinson and Chester sit close enough that nearby visits can line up, and the rest of Rockingham County is covered from the same Hampstead base.

Gutter questions from Derry

Do you serve East Derry and Derry Village?

Yes, both, along with Beaver Lake and the Route 28 side of town. East Derry's older homes often need hand-fitted work around wide eave trim, while Derry Village and the newer subdivisions are mostly straight runs. Call with the street and the house's age, and we will tell you which kind of visit to plan.

What does gutter replacement cost on a Derry colonial?

We price each house after seeing it, in writing. As a rough frame, Today's Homeowner puts Hampstead installs between $421 and $3,599. A two-story colonial with many corners and downspouts sits higher in that range than a one-story ranch. Footage, height, corner count and trim repairs set the number.

Can you clean gutters on two-story homes near Beaver Lake?

Yes. Two-story eaves take longer and need ladder-safe setups, so cleaning costs more than on a ranch. One published average is $1.10 per linear foot, so 200 feet is roughly $220 before height is added. We look at the roofline first and quote it in writing.

How soon can you reach Derry from Hampstead for a measurement?

Derry is about 5 miles away, so a measuring visit is among the easier trips we make. We will set the earliest visit we can, given that week's schedule. Bring up any soft fascia or rot when you call, since it changes what we plan to bring.
