Gutter Service in Sandown, NH
Sandown is only 4 miles from our Hampstead base, roughly a 5-minute drive by our estimate, and we cover the whole town. It grew quickly around Phillips Pond while keeping its 1774 Old Meeting House, so most of the work is on newer wooded-lot colonials that shed pine needles into their gutters. A visit here usually starts with the trees, then the trough.

Sandown is almost next door to our base. The Old Meeting House, finished in 1774, sits on Fremont Road at Route 121A. Most of the houses in Sandown, though, went up much later, and they sit in the trees.
Pines on the roof
Sandown's newer housing is built on wooded lots, and the pines on them are tall. A white pine drops its old needles each fall, and they slip into the gutter, then wash to the downspout outlet and pack in. Water backs up behind the plug and overflows at the front edge, or freezes in the trough.
The median Sandown home was built in 1986, and 83% are owner-occupied (ACS 2020-24). The trees around a house of that age were planted or left standing when it went up, and they have had 40 years to grow over the roof. Our post on gutter guards and pine needles goes through what actually works.

The cleaning schedule for a wooded lot
On a lot with pines overhead, cleaning once is not enough. We suggest a visit after the needles and leaves are down in late fall, so the troughs are clear before snow, and another in spring. Downspouts get flushed each time, because needles pack at the elbow.
Price follows footage and eave height. A published average runs about $1.10 per linear foot, or roughly $220 for 200 feet, and tall or steep roofs cost more. We quote gutter cleaning in writing after we see your roof.

When guards make sense
If you are clearing the same gutter every few weeks, gutter guards may be worth it. Fine mesh is the better fit for pine needles, since wide slots let them through. A guard cuts how often you clean, but it does not end cleaning, and you should plan on a yearly brush-off of the surface.
Guards are a fit for a roof with a moderate pitch and a clean edge. If the gutter underneath is old and leaking, fix or replace it first. A guard on a bad gutter only hides the problem.

Needles, ice and the first thaw
Packed needles hold water, and water in a trough freezes. A frozen trough full of debris weighs far more than a clean one, and the first thaw lets that weight drop onto the hangers all at once. If a Sandown gutter has pulled away from the fascia after winter, a clogged run is the usual suspect.
Before we reattach anything, we clear the run, check the fascia for soft spots and look at how the water drains. Sandown is near enough that a spring recheck after the thaw is easy to arrange.

Close enough to come back
Sandown is about 4 miles away, so a return visit costs us little. If a seam needs a second look after a hard rain, or you want a guard checked after the first winter, a short trip handles it. Danville, Chester, Fremont, Kingston and Derry are all easy to reach from here, and Rockingham County as a whole is within our range.
What customers say about our work
“He did a 158 Ft seamless gutter and front trim on my building. Highly recommended. He earned my business.”
“Caio and his team were phenomenal. They installed 6 inch gutters on my entire home and what a difference it’s made!”
“Caio came out promptly to look at our 30,000 square foot commercial building in Plaistow and provided an estimate that evening. He came back a week later and did a wonderful job cleaning all of the gutters.”

Gutter questions from Sandown
Do you work on newer homes around Phillips Pond?
Yes. Most of Sandown's growth is newer colonials on wooded lots, and the pond area is part of our coverage. We measure the roof, check how close the trees are to the eaves and plan seamless runs and downspouts to suit. You get a written price, and Sandown is near enough that a follow-up is simple.
How often do wooded Sandown lots need gutter cleaning?
At least once a year, and twice if pines or oaks overhang the roof. Do one visit in late fall after leaves and needles are down, and one in late spring after the pollen and tassels. Houses under heavy cover can need a mid-summer check too. We can set a schedule that matches your trees.
Which gutter guards suit Sandown's pine cover?
Fine mesh sheds pine needles better than wide-slot screens, which let needles slip through and knit into a mat. No guard stays clear forever, though. Needles will lie on top and need an occasional brush-off. We look at your roof pitch and tree cover before recommending one.
How far is Sandown from Hampstead?
Four miles, or close to five minutes in the truck by our estimate. Sandown is among the easiest towns for us to reach for a repair, a measurement or a return visit. Give us your address and we will set the earliest visit we can.
Services in Sandown
- Seamless Gutters
Sandown's 1980s colonials are on or past their first system. A seamless run cut to length keeps joints to the corners and outlets, leaving fewer places for sealant to fail under the trees.
- Gutter Cleaning
White pines overhang many Sandown roofs, so needles pack at the outlets after the fall drop and again in spring. We clear the troughs, flush every downspout elbow, and price by the foot.
- Gutter Maintenance Plans
A wooded lot is a yearly job, not a one-off. A set visit after the needles come down in late fall, with a spring return, is easier to plan than a clogged trough in January.
- Gutter Guards
Fine mesh sheds pine needles better than wide slots. Needles still settle on top and need a brush-off, so we look at pitch and tree cover and tell you plainly if guards will not help.
- Under-Deck Drainage
If a Sandown house has a raised deck with a dry space or storage below it, ask us whether an under-deck drainage system fits. We assess it on site and quote in writing.
- Gutter Service
The main gutter service page covers repair and installation for Sandown houses, and it is the place to start when a pulled-away gutter after winter needs more than a clean-out.
