Gutter Service in Allenstown, NH

Just over half of Allenstown is Bear Brook State Park, which leaves a wooded town with older mill-era housing along the Suncook River. We cover Allenstown from Hampstead, about 24 miles and roughly 35 minutes by our estimate, and the woods set the gutter work. The town covers 20.6 square miles, with the Merrimack River on its western border and Bear Hill at 835 feet in the southeast.

A town that is mostly Bear Brook State Park

The Allenstown town website puts Bear Brook State Park at 6,740 acres inside the town, with more in Deerfield, Candia and Hooksett. That is just over half of Allenstown. The state calls it the largest developed state park in New Hampshire. For anyone with a roof near it, the gutter question is trees.

Pine needles and cones packed into a gutter trough along a shaded roof edge

Pine needles, cones, oak leaves and twigs fall onto roofs for most of the year. A trough packed with needles holds water against the fascia and invites ice in winter. Gutter cleaning once or twice a year is the baseline here, and what you can see from the ground tells you how overdue it is.

Guards that suit needle fall

Fine needles pass through some screens, then settle in the trough under them. Gutter guards can help, but only if the type fits the debris. We look at which trees are over the roof and how steep it is before we suggest a guard.

Older housing near the Suncook River

Allenstown's median home was built in 1981, and 81% are owner-occupied (ACS 2020-24). Part of the town sits along the Suncook River, in the mill village of Suncook, which it shares with Pembroke. That village has denser, older buildings and its own page with its own focus. This page covers the wooded side.

A packed gutter does more than overflow. Wet debris is heavy, and once it freezes the weight is on the hangers and the fascia board all winter. That is when a run that looked fine in October starts to sag in February. On a 1980s house in the woods, the common problems are sagging spans, seams that opened after years of wet debris and downspouts that empty too close to the foundation. We check all three on every visit.

Pinewood Road, Allenstown Road and the park gate

NH 28 follows Pinewood Road north to Pembroke, and US 3 runs through town as Allenstown Road. Bear Brook State Park, with its CCC camp history from 1935 to 1942 and a museum on that history, takes up the central and southeastern part of town. A roof shaded by tall trees dries slowly, and wet needles stay put longer. When you call, tell us how close the trees stand to the eave and whether any branches touch the roof.

Visiting Allenstown from Hampstead

Allenstown is 24 miles from our base. Visits are booked ahead and may be combined with nearby calls in Hooksett, Epsom or Candia. We walk the roofline, measure the runs and check hangers and fascia, then send a written price. Allenstown is part of Merrimack County.

What customers say

“Caio came out promptly to look at our 30,000 square foot commercial building in Plaistow and provided an estimate that evening. He came back a week later and did a wonderful job cleaning all of the gutters.”

“Caio was professional and courteous. He spotted multiple things that were wrong with our gutters beyond what we knew about and performed the repair promptly at an excellent price.”

Gutter questions from Allenstown

How much of Allenstown is covered by Bear Brook State Park?

Just over half. The town reports that the park takes up 6,740 acres in Allenstown, with another 3,200 acres in neighboring Deerfield, Candia and Hooksett. For gutters, that means a woodland setting with heavy tree cover, so many homes see needles, leaves and branches on the roof.

Do I need guards for a house beside Bear Brook State Park?

Guards can help on a roof with pine and oak overhead, but they do not replace cleaning. Needles can pass through coarse screens, so we match the guard to the debris. A fine mesh keeps more out. We look at the tree cover and the roof pitch before we suggest anything.

How long is the drive from Hampstead to Allenstown?

About 24 miles, roughly 35 minutes by our estimate. Allenstown is a trip out, so we book visits ahead and may group them with calls in Suncook or Hooksett. Call with your street and a quick description, and we will book the earliest visit we can.

Can wet needles and snow make an Allenstown gutter sag?

Yes. A trough full of wet needles weighs far more than an empty one, and ice runs about 57 to 60 pounds per cubic foot. Hangers pull loose under that weight. Clearing debris before the freeze is the main defense, and we reset any hanger that has already given way.
