Gutter Service in Hampton, NH

We cover Hampton from Hampstead, about 24 miles and roughly 35 minutes by our estimate, from the cottage blocks at Hampton Beach to the homes inland along Route 1. The beach side has a calendar the rest of town does not, because rental houses fill in summer and sit idle in winter. That makes spring the time to check the gutters.

Hampton splits into two gutter jobs. Near Hampton Beach, it is small cottages packed close together. Inland along Route 1, it is the ranches and colonials that make up most of the town.

Rental houses and the pre-season gutter check

A rental cottage lives on a schedule: closed up in winter, full by July. A gutter that pulled loose in a March nor'easter will not fix itself, and nobody is there to see it. Spring is the time to walk the roofline, tighten or replace hangers, and clear what the winter left behind. The point is to catch it before the first booked week.

If you own the cottage but live elsewhere, call with the address and we will arrange the visit and write the price down.

Cottage lots with no room to spare

Hampton Beach is dense. Houses sit a few feet apart, so a downspout that empties on the ground can send water straight at a neighbor's foundation or a shared walkway. On a lot like that, the fix is often a short extension or a different downspout position rather than more gutter.

Salt spray and summer rental wear both argue for aluminum gutters, which do not rust the way steel does. Salt still attacks hardware, so ask whoever quotes you which hangers and fasteners go in.

What Hampton homes usually need

The median Hampton home was built in 1978, and 74% are owner-occupied (ACS 2020-24). Houses from that decade are on their second set of gutters or due for it.

Marsh-edge houses along Hampton Harbor

Hampton sits inside the largest salt marsh in New Hampshire. The Hampton River starts where the Taylor and Hampton Falls rivers meet, runs about a mile and widens into Hampton Harbor, which drains to the Atlantic through a dredged inlet between the beach and Seabrook (Wikipedia). Houses at the marsh edge sit on low ground that stays damp long after a storm.

That changes the job. A downspout that empties onto saturated soil has nowhere to send water, so it lingers by the foundation. Before we suggest a gutter, we look at where each outlet lands and how far an extension would need to run to reach firmer, higher ground.

Two beaches, one headland

Great Boar's Head, a rocky headland, divides Hampton Beach into a north and a south part (Lane Memorial Library local history). The main strip, with the state park and the harbor marina, lies on one side. North Beach runs the other way, toward North Hampton. When you call, tell us which side you are on, since cottage lots, access and parking differ between them. A tight lane with no room for ladder footing changes how long a visit takes.

Inland, along Route 1

Away from the beach, Hampton looks like the rest of southern Rockingham County: 1970s and 1980s houses on level lots, oaks and maples overhead, and downspouts that discharge too close to the foundation. The problems are leaf clogs and tired seams, not salt.

From Hampstead to the beach: booking a visit

Hampton is about 24 miles from our base. We book visits ahead and often fit them in with other Seacoast jobs. For a cottage we measure the runs, check fascia and hangers, and note how water leaves the house. You get a written price. Permits are handled town by town, so ask Hampton's building office before work starts, and call Dig Safe before any trench for a buried drain line. Neighbors nearby include Hampton Falls, North Hampton and Seabrook, all part of Rockingham County.

What customers say

“He called me on Tuesday to tell me that there is rain expected and he would like to move the job up to Wednesday (today). I thought that was very professional of him to reach out and reschedule.”

Gutter questions from Hampton

When should Hampton Beach rental owners have gutters checked?

Before the season starts, so April or early May. Winter loads the eaves and spring wind finds loose hangers, and you do not want to learn that from a guest. We look at hangers, seams and downspout ends, then write down what needs fixing and what can wait another year.

Do gutters last as long at Hampton Beach as inland?

Not always. Salt spray speeds up corrosion on steel parts, so ask any installer what the gutter, hangers and fasteners are made of. Aluminum does not rust, but its fasteners can. We would look at your run in person and tell you what we see before quoting a repair or a replacement.

Can you reach Hampton for a short gutter repair?

Yes. Hampton is about 24 miles out, and short jobs are easiest when they can be grouped with other Seacoast work. Call with what you see, a loose run or a leaking seam, and we will set the earliest visit we can. A written price follows the look.
